Portrait of Lucius Bond
1821 - 1891
John Bond was paying taxes in Dalton in 1825, and may have been living in this house, according
to the 1830 Census.

Lucius Bond, son of John & Comfort, was born in 1821 in Haverhill, NH.  The home on Harriman
Road became the home of Lucius Bond, who married first, Laura Ballou, in 1849.  After her death,
he married Addie Gale in 1871.  According to the date on the back of the building photos, they
were taken in 1871.  Other markings on the prints indicate they were matted for a Mrs. Tilluson
(Tillotson), so perhaps the framed pictures were a wedding gift to the Bonds.  The close-up view
shows people on the porch, but their identity is unknown.
The home was purchased by the Bartlett family in 1933.  Members of their
family lived here more than 50 years.  Below are Jim Bartlett on the porch,
and brother George behind the door in 1974.  Compare the porch railings
in these two photos. Could these be the same, after at least 100 years?
Bartlett home around 1984.
This home is still standing.
